Just enjoy yourself be competent but not over competent. Reading through the course structure and expectations should help you. Also reading the afag leaflets on chainsaw use. Hse leaflets. Etc. you'll be given all these anyway but if you want to have some back ground knowledge before you go these will help.

The Arboricultural Association has a great website with mountains of resources.

As above, just relax and enjoy. Remember your course tutor and examiner are both there to help and guide you.

 

Thanks. Thats good to know, im fine with cross cutting and most maintainence stuff but ive never felled a tree in my life haha.

Just doing mine, it's been really good.

 

Instructor is a top guy which makes it all the better, just do some research before you go and listen. They won't let you do any thing dangerous and should you all you need.

its pretty hard to fail these tests in my experience. They will ask you questions, but if they don't get the answer they want they'll grill you till they do. If the knowledge is in there a good instructor will find it.
