Trying a Vertical Speed Line.

Tried this for the first time to section down the main stem on a beech dismantle a few days ago.

 

Used over negative rigging as no targets directly below, just needed to prevent the timber rolling down the hill into gate/fence. And could not fell.

 

Worked great, was quicker than NR and prevented wear on the gear. Also could take bigger sections

Nice man, I tried it for the first time too recently. It really does save time when obstacles arnt in the direct line of fire. How did your attach the rope to the base of the tree?

Yep moving down the running bowline beats re-tying the block. Redirected the rope of the bottom of the tree through a sling and shackle.
