Stem injection to kill mature Spruce trees

Nooooo! That is literally pissing about 2k of government money into the ground, try and convince the bunny rubbers to fell & sell. If it is for habitat, without compromise then try to convince them to let you drill and just pour in neat glyphosate. But only do it on one side, this gives you the dead wood desired but allows the tree to retain some integrity on the other side to, so less likely to blow over and increases diversity.

Can anyone shed any light n whether there's a better technique than drilling a hole and filling it with Glyphosate.

 

Yes, drill several holes. Comically inefficient. If I was you I would follow the spec and not get involved in writing it or guaranteeing its success.

 

Ecoplugs are a waste of time in living conifers stems.
