I should imagine there are hundreds of turners who have had similar as a starter lathe. I still have my workzone one in the garage. Once i had worked out what thread it was (3/4 x 16) i bought an adaptor and a chuck for it, me and the missus turned quite a lot of bowls etc on it before upgrading to a better lathe.

Thanks. So it's worthwhile hanging onto as a beginners lathe?

Aye! If your desperate for some chisels i think i spotted the cheapy 3 that came wth mine in the draw you can have.

Must say i am watching hansel and gretel on ch 5 at mo and images of TVI keep coming into my mind:lol::lol:

Got to wait for the credits to see who the horny looking witch is:biggrin:

You may find you will have to put some pressure on the drive belt when tightening the bolt. I took the faceplate into agri shop and got them size the thread so i knew what it was. They do tend to vary from models. And you should have a spindle head which screws on in place of the face plate so that you can do spindle work.

That's very kind thanks very much :thumbup1: There's no other bits with it I guess they went missing. Would getting a chuck be easier than the faceplate.

I can't help with the horny witch we're watching only fools here :laugh1:

Stick with the faceplate, but you will only be able to do bowls, unless you can get a cheap chuck and adaptor from ebay. I bought a supernova 2 chuck, adaptor and stub centre, not cheap, twice the price of the lathe.
