Valtra oil leak

Recommended Posts

Back end oil leak on valtra 8100. Coming front right under cab, running down fuel tank and coming out where prop meets gearbox. is a small intermittent leak, mostly little drip, sometimes continuos, sometimes nothing, everything working fine, and still using machine daily for timber extraction. Can not see where its coming from, so am asking if i can undo bolts and lift cab just by an inch or two to have a look, been told it maybe an oil seal on pto drive, or something to do with clutch or delta powershift that may mean splitting machine, hoping its something simple, but needs to be sorted. Any advice welcome Cheers Tom

8500 hours on machine, leaking from somewhere higher but running down to where prop meets gear box.

Was thinking about leaving cab mounting bolts in at front and only lifting from the back only by a few inches, maybe disconnect pto link

I've not had need yet, but have wondered if there is an access panel under rubber mat, some tractors have them. Have to remove seat and all floor mat. Anyone know if there is such panel in the valtra? If not there aught to be.

So far have fixed all probs by removing wheels and looking through the panels in the mudguards. Some of steering connections can be seen looking under battery from LH front of cab. Also had leaks from the hose on filter under RH step, that ran oil down near where you describe.

Who's your local valtra dealer, ours are Hosplant near Colchester and they are helpful in past for phone advice.

All the best, John.
