Moving leylandii

Recommended Posts

It was more a case of not wasting them as they're in the wrong place. The woodland isn't well established & I think leylandii standards are quite attractive but moving them might be too much of a pain

With a driver in my experience they will charge for the day even if job only takes a couple of hours

You are obviously dealing with the wrong contractors. Do it all the time and get charged by the hour, plus traveling time of course. I hour today saved us a couple of man days work. They will often fit you in if they finish a job midday.

I've planted leylandii because I think they look nice as well. However it seems a lot of hassle to hire a jcb and transplant them...

It has to be cheaper to cut your existing ones down and buy 12 inch ones from the garden centre...

Certainly easier, I would think... probably more chance of success just seems a shame to waste the existing trees
