felling bar cuts

I know when i did my CS31, my instructor told me to take everything you would need to the fell the tree, strops, felling bar, wedges etc etc as once you start your assessment you need to be able to complete it. If you don't have it to hand then your just making it harder for yourself if you get in to trouble/doesn't go to plan and don't have the tools/equipment to make adjustments and fell the tree.

Can tell your all climbers and not wood cutters. Without a felling bar life in the woods is seriously hindered. As for split level it is the best way to get over a leaning trees taught on cs31.

Husky cusion was a small pad with a connection to the exaust for felling leaners, never really caught on due to pressures required to fell trees.

Have found various modifications to this cut that I belive are more efficient but only you can tell me if im right!!

I very rarely use a felling bar in the woods. Others like it but i like wedges and a Scandinavian felling axe. I used one a few week ago to put a sycamore down the track so we could winch it out tip first my back felt that i can tell you. It was a little too small for wedges.
