From doing my own research there doesn't seem to be any funding available for nptc tickets. I looked into the 24+ learner loans but you can only apply for them for certain qualifications so no good as well. I work work full time and am trying to save what little I can after everything is paid off every week which isn't a lot, going to take a while.

When I did my Arb level 3 in the Midlands I got a grant from the Studley Trust, which really helped me and I used some of it to pick up my tickets.

My initial application was rejected, I think because I was earning money and paying for my own place to live they thought I was doing okay.

Explained in my statement how annoying it was that 17 year old lads who weren't interested in college were claiming EMA that I couldn't get. Sent them timesheets from my carework job to show I was doing 30 hours a week there and going in to college 4-3 days a week. Sent in a few bank statements so they could see my outgoings were all on housing, food, running a car (to get to college) and adult stuff and sent them off all my results so far to show that I was a good student and I think they sent me a cheque for around £600 and a nice letter, which paid a fair amount towards my tickets.

I think you are entitled to education up to age 18 but if you left at 16 and didn't use this allowance then I think on certain courses or colleges you can claim this. Don't ask me for any more detail it's just something in the back of my mind from a conversation I had a while back, maybe worth investigating.
