.243 for deer. i have permission in dorset and shoot sika and roe, also some roe stalking in somerset

 

That is a lovely Roe buck and Sika stag.

I got permission to shoot on land where there is a big herd of Sika deer.

 

I went to take a look at it in March and here is what I seen.

I bet they will not be as keen to look at me next Saturday morning.

 

I've been back a few times since then the stags are looking in great form and there is a few too many prickets about so hopefully I'll have one hanging in the chiller by saturday evening.

 

I'll let you guys know how I get on, and put up a few pictures.

looks like the prickets need thinning out a bit. it wont be long before they start to split before the rut. i would get on top of them now if i were you while they are grouped. let me know how you get on. happy shooting :001_smile:
