I think there's a demand for good subby tree surveyors - especially if you're flexible on travel arrangements. You will need a qualification (LANTRA Professional Tree Inspector as a minimum, ideally a Tech Cert/L4) and a working knowledge of planning and tree risk survey methods to command regular work.

Brilliant thanks for the replies im 22 I'm based Nottinghamshire/Leicestershire boarder and yer I thought the work would be their but was interested to know others thoughts I'm currently part way thought the rfs level 2 in arb I have been in the industry since leaving college where I did a countryside management course in 09 I work full time doing forestry and tree surgery works I have my nptc ticket from strimmer to chainsaw use from rope and harness and I spend a lot of time reading and learning about trees it's just somthing I would really like to work towards over the next few years would be great to get to know some one who does do it and maybe shadow them , cheers
