Operation on sssi need consent from Natural England so youd have to contact them anyway before commencing any work

 

Yes any work with in a sssi you will need consent from natural England and depending on what the sssi is for will determine how you plan your operation.

What the normal ask for is a method statement detailing what you plan to do.
