What's the script with the laws? A relation of mine has been fighting for year over tall trees with her neighbour.... Told her to go to council last year and the said nothing they can do??? about 15 40 plus feet for type trees

Sure as heck not the first hedge rage case. I had one of the first cases in Scotland last year where the shaded party couldn't even wait for the high hedge application to the Council to be decided, and (allegedly) cut the hedge down while its owner was away on holiday.

I specialise in High Hedges cases. If you PM me the address I may be able to give you a free opinion. There have been about 60 appeals in Scotland so far, I am seeing COuncils getting cases wrong quite regularly, although some Councils are better than others and are dealing with cases very professionally. I haven't had any cases in Renfrewshire so I don't know what the Council is like there.

We did our first enforcement notice the other day on behalf of Edinburgh council. So the law is being used.
