Interesting Car Math

I've recently scrapped a car as follows:

1995 Peugeot 405 Executive Estate 2.0 petrol (with 220k on the clock and full pug service history).

I bought this car on ebay for £18 and stripped it for parts for our (other) 405 estate turbo diesel which we use as a vegetable wagon.

Scrap paid was £66.00, parts sold on ebay made approx £200.00 and I gained lots of others.

The scrapped car came with EVERY single receipt since new - no kidding, fuel receipts included!!!

I'm not sure of the price paid when new in '95 but I've added up every receipt and they read like this:

1) Servicing, MOTs, tyres etc £20419.00

2) Fuel £26637.10

£~47 grand!!! So over £60k from start to finish.... Blimey.:scared1:

Are you availible some time next week? As i have a Tesco's carrier bag full of reciepts that need adding up for my end of year tax return.

LOL! My accountant always complains of builders who come in with a carrier bag full of screwed up receipts, empty it on the table along with some brick dust, shrivelled bacon etc!! Me a bit neat and tidy I guess!:001_cool:
