Just wondering if anyone has had the opportunity to buy or use the new splitting axe by Husqvarna, mainly the heavy 2.8Kg model. It has a non stick coating and a s/steel protection area on the shaft below the head.

I've got one its ok but the handle is a bit short. i use it more for hammering wedges in with the back of it than splitting logs. I also have a Fiskars x27 which has a longer handle and is better for splitting IMO.

The non stick coating does exactly that, comes off quite quickly. I have an A 2400 axe and like it a lot, a work mate and my son have also used it and said how much they like it. The stainless plate does protect the shaft. If it does break I won't be able to re shaft it like my others though.
