Honda TD500 HL on brash?

Recommended Posts

anyone ever try using a Honda or similar track dumper on a brash mat? I have to bring firewood out of a small plantation. my thoughts are for the amount of first thinnings to come out fell, brash, cut to either meter lengths or logs, remove with dumper to the trailer. thus leaving all the mess there to rot.

Would the tracks handle it or is that partly why the Iron Horse has those wide tracks... Too wet for quad, too little for forwarder, too impatient for horses!

I use a Holder A15 with pallet forks to haul out IBC containers. Normally chip brash into IBC containers bigger stuff stood upright in 1 mtr lengths in IBC container.

we've used both the honda and our skid steer which is tracked dumper based on brash and they were pretty effective the best way we found was to work from furthest away back the way so you haven't got too much to climb over the biggest issue we had was from over loading and toppling over as the track width isn't that wide on the td500 the mini skid steer was better as it was wider and you could doze crap out of the way to make the paths better we were skidding it out in 15-20ft lengths with the skid steer and when it got to the heavier stuff we had a tow bar and we stuck our arbor trolley on the back to get even more capacity
