... I can now actually read fungal strategies and similar works and actually understand them. The pieces of the jigsaw are coming together, bit by bit

re your ?, Sinclair/Lyon say the fungal strategy is host-specific. But they are not as helpful as Schwarze re pathways.

Hi Guy, Sinclair helped a lot in the explanation, although the German references didn't. I've had to translate a paper recently and it's no fun. The evolution, adaptions and strategies are simply astonishing, once you start to get your head round them.

 

i also found ' decay development and its restriction in trees' by R B Pearce a great help generally, in joining.the dots. The greatest difficulty I've had is the terminology, but by creating a glossary of terms and explanations for everything I didn't know, I've almost got there.
