Looking into buying a tipper i know LDV do run transit engines but are they slightly more reliable in anyway or both about the same.

Looking at spending max £4000 any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've had a few of both and never had any serious problems with any of them, Transit is much nicer to drive and would be my first choice.

4k would buy you three LDVs

LDV are cheap, reliable (as much if not more than a Transit) but dog rough doesn't even begin to describe the cab. Great workhorses though.

Can't beat the thick plastic vinyl seats good for washing down but boy aren't they sweaty in the summer!
