I have a Peugeot Boxer 2.2 HDI LWB what i use for garden maintanence. I have recently plylined it and built a second floor thats 250mm high 1500m long & 800mm wide. I place all my diging tools underneath & clearing saw & combi tools strimmer/hedge cutter/ polesaw on top. I still have my tool boxes, drill boxes strimmer line fuel cans & various other crap kicking about on floor. I also need room foor ladders/wheelbarrow/mower and builders tone bags. I used to use wheelie bins but found them a pain for storage. Does any one have a better system or some tips for tidying equipment & tools in vans/pick ups? Be good too here your tricks guys!

i made a side rack for transit, partitioned for hand tools/fuel cans etc, left top open for loppers/shears/sprayer etc, still plenty of room for mowers, made some hooks on other side to hang steps on,other hooks for coats etc, but no matter what i do i always need more room !

I've a standard SWB low topped transit with 3 tier shelf on the left hand side (from the backdoor), mower on the floor, saws on the second shelf, hedgecutter, blower, strimmer and other bits on the top. Knapsack on the righthandside of the side door (spanning both shelves, the top one's shorter), hand tools (spade, fork, axes, mattock rakes etc) on the Lefthandside of this door, strapped to the back of the seats. Climbing kigt hangs off the back of the cage behind the driver. Longer tools along the righthandside (from the back door) on a rack. Ladders on the roof rack.

Space for 5 wheelie bins/numerous dumpy bags, or 3 bins and a cs 100 chipper.

Obviously it's all removed each night and stored in a secure lock up.

Simiar to Tim. I have a standard roof short wheelbase transit crew van (It's my family vehicle as well as the work van). I have a ply bulkhead behind the rear seats to separate the tool area from the cab. I built shelves on the right hand side of this area (so I only have to open 1 door to get to them). Hand tools go on the shelves. Fork spade etc stand in the corner between the shelves and the rear door with a piece of bunjee cord round them to stop them falling all over the place. Mower goes in along the left hand side with fuel cans behind it. Hedgetrimmer, blower, saws kombi system engine and heads on the floor between the mower and the shelves. My rakes, brooms etc are Wolfe system ones with the interchangeable heads so I only have a couple of handles which just get chucked in on top and the heads are on the shelves. Steps go on the roof. It's not ideal only having the back part of the van, but I've made it work ok and it's no smaller than a double cab pick up.

Thats very impresive for a swb. Used to have a swb transit my new van is much bigger but i still struggle for space i have 3 mowers on somtimes. I have had 15 builders ton bags of hedge/tree cuttings on before which is quite impresive. I think i should maybe think about shelfing as the floor is just full of clutter. I do tie a 10ft lader in side the van as i dont like roof racks on high tops.
