Haha cheers, ok I will find the real serial number tomorrow. Got given a 029 the other day in pretty much mint condition. Original bar still on it and all words and numbers still perfectly visible. There is still a small sticker on the fuel tank showing you where to put your fuel. Has been sat in a workshop for years, the only sign of wear I can see is the chain and the colour of the saw has faded! 👍

I read somewhere that there is no age related data in Stihl serial numbers and the only way to find out is to contact the manufacturer. You can get a rough idea by looking at the time period when the saw was in production about 1993 to 1999 when the super came out according to best chainsaw guide.
