A friend had a 357xpg etech with same problem, it needed more fuel on the low-jet ,,,

if the saw/saws have a carb with limiters on the screws I recommend you to cut off the tabs/wings on the screws so you can set the carb as you like !

 

I have also had problems with the 357. Difficult to start, had to replace the auto-decompression valve with a manual type and the pistons have broken thrice. husky fixed it every time, but obviously not that well...

sounds about right as the saw warms up so does the carb and when it is warm/hot the fuel in the carb will evaporate quicker and if running lean on the bottom end this will cause poor starting. if you wish to play with the settings do it 1/8th of a turn at a time ( to make it leaner(less fuel) you go inwards to make it richer (more fuel ) outwards

This is proberbly the thing to do as Kipp say.

 

9 times out of ten that does the trick I belive..

 

Then there is that tenth time...

 

What to do then?

Well I tried to shorten the half mile of fuel line, that helps too. replace it to a strait one is even better.

 

Have a good look at the carb. ecpecially the inlet valve and jet's.
