Checked out my petzl Zillon the other day to find a crack at the top link, the same place as the Zig Zags. petzl just have to make them out of stronger materials and stop trying to be all light weight, this is tree surgery remember!

 

can you not spot weld it :confused1:

I've been using it a while now and got some pictures today to do a review.....fantastic bit of kit...great with a ZigZag or a Spiderjack. I, ve never enjoyed climbing so much!...just sayin':)

Both the Zillon and the ZigZag seems to be a brilliant design that has been poorly implemented/engineered. Once the reports of fractures stop appearing (MK 3, 4, 5, ...), I will surely get them to replace my ART LockJack and ART Positioner (in that order).

yeah,don't get me wrong, great bit of kit and i loved using it. But i only had about a couple of months use out of it, then the crack appeared. The suppliers now been informed and ill be send it back to them shortly, lets see what they have to say!!
