Husqi 435e

Hey All

 

I am new to this forum so bear with me.

 

I am also new to the world of chainsaws. I was given around 5 acres of forest, all hardwood to cut for firewood. I decided to buy the husqi 435, appreciating it is not a pro saw. So far it is ideal for cutting the trunks down to logs however one issue is that it doesn't idle too well before it cuts out and can be quite hard to restart without putting my foot in the handle to keep the throttle going.

 

Any suggestions other than buy another saw of course. It is brand new and still under warranty but I thought if it was easy enough sorted I would give it a whizz.

Pull the choke lever up and push it back down again to set fast idle to restart when it's warmed up. I have a 135 which is like a cheap 435 and I had to rest the mixture after running for a while. You need a splined screwdriver to turn the L screw in a bit and an ordinary one for the tick over screw to speed it up.

Not being contradictory but I would say the L screw will probably need turning out a tad and the idle increasing.

Just going by what mine was doing, I had to take it in nearly half a turn to get it to tick over at all after it had been running for a while. When I turned it out it bogged before it picked up which was really annoying and it took ages to warm up. It was running spot on when I last used it a couple of weeks ago.

Hi & Welcome,

 

You're very fortunate there, to have 5 acres of wood to cut, I hope you manage it well.

 

Keep your money & listen to Spud & some of the other experienced guys, theres a good, well intentioned crowd here. Im sure your 435 will serve you well once its tweaked a bit & you could always take it to a dealer to have a look at if you dont want to tinker.

Thanks for the info folks- enough for me to make a start to sort it.

 

@NFG- I know I am fortunate to get 5 acres of woodland to cut- but it is a daunting task for a newbie like myself although I am up for the challenge.

 

Thankfully they aren't huge trees- around 12-18 year old hardwoods, so easy enough to handle.
