best materials for kindling

did anyone ever put pallet boards through a kindlet?

how many pallet boards would it take to make up a 40x50 cm bag of kindling?

Pallet boards will go through it but it just takes more time to break pallets up !

is there any easy way to break pallets up?.i still would not use pallets as my main source of materials.it would just be a bit of a bonus if you can make bags of kindling for free (exluding labour)

I'm also very interested to know about the number of bags from a pallet, or how many pallets to make a bag. I've got access to loads of heat treated pallets so it would make great kindling.

I probly have 200 pallets with material on them ready for chopping and they will all go on the fire to me it's just not worth it

Axminster had one on clearance. When I collected it from the north london branch they asked me what it was and what it did. When I looked around you could get something similar for about 5k. We fitted a pneumatic guide and conveyor.

 

I have seen a machine that recovers the wood from pallets it has loads of circular saw discs. When I looked into it half the pallet was turned into waste so you needed lots of pallets and would be left with as much waste as kindling. The kindlet will take the odd nail but loads of them will soon blunt the blade pallets also get stones embedded in them and it can be difficult to work out if they are treated.

Never tried it but I would think 3 ? would be easy to try cut, to bits with jigsaw hand axe load bags
