Does anyone do either, or both, SIA testing or air excavation around Manchester?

I need an estimate for one tree, as part of an option to retain it, after its partially wind-thrown. TBH the tree is likely to be removed, but the mortgage lenders have asked for costings and I've no idea of rates. PM if preferred

Thanks, Gary

we're fully qualified in GiaT (givin' it a tug) & can do it for £995

Have you tried giving Paul Muir a call at Treeworks?

Starting a bidding war eh, Mr Humphries?

Can also recommend calling Paul Muir - I enquired with him recently about a tree in my area that I wanted testing. It didn't work out in the end but he was very helpful.

Have you a number or website? Is that TEP and if so which region is Paul based at?

Sorry for the brief replies - one of those days.

David; GiaT isn't something I've read much on. I assume it works on the basis that if it falls over it's too decayed for retention (as a standing structure). Does this method work incrementally? ie. two fat blokes tugging means it's twice as safe as one fat bloke.

Your estimate of costs sounds very reasonable, compared to Pauls, but unfortunately I think I may have to go with something a little more quantifiable.

TEP are looking to be helpful, so thank-you for the contact.
