Husky 42 Special piston and cylinder

need to replace piston and cylinder on my 42 special which i believe to be ported. Does anyone know where the best place to get one from is?

I have read it is the same as the 246 but dont know for certain. thanks

I tried to get a cylinder kit for one a while back , I couldn't find a decent quality one so ended up buying an expensive genuine cyl and piston .

 

You may be able to salvage the cylinder if it's not too far gone and fit a Meteor or similar quality piston .

 

Dunno about a 246 .

The 246 basically is the same saw, with a larger bore. Both cylinders are open port.

 

As far as I can see, the only differenses are the top end and the decales (when they are made at the same time).
