Serviced Diesel engine - now it's blittery

Yes thats the spill return line for returning unused diesel. Silly question but the bolt was hollow? Youll get a leak and thats about it. I had an old major years ago i wanted more power from so i just blocked the return pipes off.

So slacken injector feed one at a time and if doesn't change beat then the issue is between injector pump and feed into lift pump?

 

Would I slacken injector feed at injector end or pump end? Appreciate you taking time to help.

Whichever is easiest to get to usually. Doesnt really matter. If cracking all pipes makes no difference then it could be between injector pump and fuel tank.

there called banjo bolts, always slacken pipes at injector end.

Sorted it out by tracing back from injectors as was suggested, turns out it was drawing air at glass bowl filter. With injectors being done it's now purring like a pussy and roaring like a lion.

 

Thanks for all help, was depressing doing stuff to make it better and ending with it worse!
