Hi, in the research stage of a move to tree work, got some great advice on here before so hoping for a little more.

My goal is to be self employed, I understand it's going to take a year or twos experience to be competent but after that and once the business is on it's feet how much can I reasonably expect to earn?

I'm outside London which I guess will make a difference and I know working for yourself these things are not guaranteed.

I'm looking to make the move to improve my quality of life not for mega bucks but I need to know the facts, many thanks in advance

Rich

How long is a piece of string? Seriously.

If you've no experience whatsoever then you'd be best off cutting hedges and subbing a climber in when you need one.

'A year or two to get competent'

I would add a bit to that. The more you learn about trees, the more you realise you don't know.

After 3 years of full time work and study (if you study) you'll discover just how little you actually know!
