I agree, preferred the unpainted look, maybe a matt finish would look better. Was it a gloss finish or were the pics taken when still wet?

Fantastic piece but I have to agree, it does look better before paint. Think it would have looked better still if it had been burnt and not painted, could have shaded and got some lighter and darker areas

The finish has a little sheen to it but it will dull out in a few months worth of weather.
