Well the verdict is in. A small cog which slides between the drive shaft and pto shaft has had its cogs rounded having been turned around as a fix earlier this year. It looks like the selector fork has been redrilled and a new roll pin inserted. Not a major task until you look at the crown and pinion which has major cog damage and will need to be replaced. Nick drained the oil and with a magnet retrieved the remnants of the cogs together with a brand new looking roll pin. Obviously not amused that some mechanic could not be bothered to retrieve the roll pin which has caused so much damage.

Well a big thanks to Nick and everyone who helped get all the parts back from Germany the tractor is now back and in full working order just need to start doing some real work with it. I must admit I am very impressed with Holder tractors having in stock all the parts requested except one which we had to get manufactured by a specialist gear cutter. Not so impressed with the attitude of the UK Holder agent however we still managed to get the parts despite his antics.
