not sure what you mean, is it a block and tackle set up. if so, watch the rope isnt heavier than you, a lot of nasty accidents happen on yachts with the bosuns chair set up. or maybe i have the wrong end of the stick:confused1:

Yes a ropeblock,it would need a very good safety on its running end, wouldnt it.

when you get to the point of no return and the rope is heavier than you, then its not going to be pretty. i have heard some horror stories:ohmy:

I hear you,do you think you could make it safe by say tending the slack by the groundie maybe and a real good hitch for the climber and maybe a mechanical progress saver on the block.

just put a back pack on full of bricks, weigh the rope, then weigh you. and make up the difference. but i am sure there is a corect way, try a sailors forum, but you might get more than you bargained on:001_tt1:

i just got a hitchclimber on saturday, now i just want to climb every tree available!!! it's awesome.

does your lockjack tend slack for you? can you free climb the tree and it will sort it all out for you? that'd be cooler.
