yes its fig, see them all over the mediterranean. Not a rubber plant though as those leaves are much bigger.

Don't know what it is but not seen a fig leaf like that. All the ones I've seen in Spain and of the ones that grow on my father's fig trees, all resemble this. Only without the statue.

the leave on the statue is i believe Ficus Carica the edible fig is a part of south portugal history and a simbol toghether with carob Seratonia Siliqua and almond Prunus Dulcis.Ficus Benjamina seems a very good guess its defenitly accurate.around here theyre sold at garden centers braided toghether:001_smile:thanks 2 all its great fun being part of this forum:biggrin:
