Transit Tipper with Tail Lift Insurance

Just bought a Ford Transit tipper with a tail lift, not got any years No claims bonus on commercial vehicles, need to get it insured...

Went on moneysupermarket, comparethemarket and go compare and got cheapest quote of £1200-ish off comparethemarket I think.

So when I phoned them up to buy the policy I was told "ooooh we don't cover for tipper/tail lift (some won't cover the tipper, some the tail lift), let me talk to my manager and get back to you"...

Quote then shot up to £2,000 per annum. :-(

Also the spiv sorry customer service representative from one company "groves and dean" told me that he works in the SAME OFFICE as the next quote that came up on the comparethemarket "van insurance" so "don't bother talking to them as they are really the same company".

Also if you look at the small print these comparison websites actually have a stake in many of the insurers that come up as guess what the cheapest quotes on their website.

Then when you go to buy the insurance they start raising issues about stuff you already informed then about on the website system eg truck being a tipper.

Of course if you ever try to claim for something he'll will freeze over before they pay out.

Am Absolutely disgusted I hate the insurance industry!

worse than bankers!
