Ive just rebuilt husky 365 but cant get carb settings right , does anyone know basic settings . Some say 1.5 turns but the low and high have the plastic covers on - is it worth removing these?

I always pull or cut them off depending what type are fitted. On unmodified saws around the midway point wont be far off tho.

Carb settings depend on what carb you have fitted.Early ones had zama and later specials had walbro carbs fitted.

3/4 on L and 1 on H for the later walbro

3/4 on L and 1 1/4 on the zamas are a good starting point.

Have you cleaned the carb? I've had it before where the metering needle is held open and it just floods the saw

Good call, sounds like the most plausible reason.

If the saw has flooded, pull the plug, turn it upside down, turn the ignition off and pull the saw over fast to clear puddled fuel.

Heat the plug up on a gas cooker or using a blow torch and than try again without the choke on.

I would check the metering valve - something I do when rebuilding the carb:thumbup:

Don't use the decomp valve when trying to start - the 365 has a big squish clearance and tends to lack high compression!
