Whilst usin the saw a few weeks back when i pulled the bar from a big log it would raise the revs slightly on every tug.

It continued to run ok thankfully as the oak was 5ft in the rd!

I put it away and dug out 4 another job. The chain kept runnin on with slightly elevated revs. Again revs picked up whilst pullin the saw from the cut.

We put new clutch springs in firstly as we thought thar was the prob. However when cold its fine but after a few minutes not workin and gets warm it revs up on its own.

So an airleak i think. The crank seals and all gaskets where done on the rebuild except crank case gasket as thats a major job. B4 we get the gas torch out any thoughts?

I would try taking the top cover off and seeing how well the throttle cable is returning. They can get sticky and take a bit of time to settle. I would also look at the carb to pot seal as these are notorious for working loose and leaking - a smear of instant gasket on both sides is not a bad idea. It's the one downside of not having a rubber boot in there.

On the plus side, you are unlikely to cause any damage to the saw through an airleak so long as you have left the windvane governor in place to engage the choke if the saw overspeeds.
