550 break bands

Hi

 

Broke my 550 break band. I seem to remember that the early ones had issues with them snapping and they built a new one for them. Is this right and its a warranty issue?

 

It's a 2013 version so maybe it has the upgraded one. Dont want to spend £20 on a new one if i don't have to.

Yes . The upgraded band does not have the slot around the tight bend where it snaps
