Any thoughts on the stihl strimmer ?, not needed a big strimmer before, but now have a couple of jobs coming up where I will need one.

The local dealer has suggested this one any thoughts ?

Great 2-mix alternative to the 4-mix FS-90. Same power, more reliable and far cheaper. Mine are used to run polesaws and hedgecutters, occasionally a tiller head. No problems in 8 months of hard use.

It's not a 'big' strimmer however. If you think you may wish to run a hedgecutter head on it in the future, it's a good buy. If you have acres of grass and bramble to clear, you need a minimum of FS-410 really.

Anybody used a FS94 yet - solid shaft, bigger tank,2mix,same power, lighter and bike handle version is cheaper.

I think Stihl are hiding them away until all the 4mixs are sold.

Just been in to the dealers & saw the fs94, 7 like you say lighter & comes with a full harness, it is (according to the catalogue)8cm longer, now I can't decide:confused1:

The FS70 comes with an autocut head and a blade.

If you already have a small strimmer for edging , I would go for the FS94 with Bike handles , because of the solid drive shaft.

Yes, been using it quite a bit. Not had a big strimmer before, so not got any real experience of how others work, but its far, far more powerful than my "partner" one.
