Iv tried to get hold of the early module but no longer available and I believe you need a flwheel to go with the later one so uneconomical to fix The saw is in good nick position is like new looking threw the port I was looking for a scrapper or parts.

I would say give it a go with a nova or similar. Ive used them to replace 2 wire trigger systems ad they've always worked on stihls.

You wont know until you try it and doubt anyone will be able to give you a straight forward yes/no answer.

If its the trigger unit it should work, if its the coil it probably wont.

hello here is a few part numbers for the dolmar model PS-9000

IN 1993 THEY USED PART NO 024 143 020

IN 1996 THEY USED PART NO 024 143 020

IN 1999 THEY USED 3 DIFFERENT PART NOS 024 143 020 & 024 143 050 & 024 143 100

IN 2000 THEY USED PART NO 024 143 051 WHICH IS THE MODIFIED 024 143 050

AND THIS WAS THE TIME THERE WAS A CHANGE OVER TO THE NEW MODEL 9010

now it looks like that makita used two modules 024 143 020 and 024 143 051

here is a link that should help you choose [http://www.manualslib.com makita dcs9000 ph specification page 3

Ok all sorted iv got. A flywheel and coil coming brand new from the good old USA for les than £100 this will allow the saw to run a 13500 rpm and better starting when worm not that it was ever a hard starter Thanks for the input everyone
