Nice Pic I did one a couple of months ago Its drying now.

 

I saw it on facebook "from the woods" is that you? Any way I've been thinking about what to make it into a lot recently. The first pic is the center of the base of the trunk I like the butterfly effect of the branches. The other bits would be great bar tops with coasters built in:biggrin:

Hi Blaisy, yes that's me! Not worked out what to make with it, not sure whether it will be durable outside. It is a softwood I suppose. the knots are great. When you get three or more across the trunk they look really good. Interesting the base of the tree was darker

Yes mate I think someone in the last few years raised the soil level an it had rotten the root ball, it was a little spalted but had gone soft so had to discard the bottom foot of the trunk. I made a deck and bridge over a pond out of scots pine which everyone said would just rot but its fine. so I would have thought the monkey puzzle would be ok. keep us posted so I can steal and good idears! LOL
