I found green beech split and left in the sun now covered in september will be perfect for the winter.

+1 i split all mine chuck in wood shed and let the wind and sun do the rest.

bone dry by end of summer but beech burns nice, but as other posts mix with other woods. not keen on oak but it does burn nice and slow
