Oily residue around exhaust t540xp

Hi all, might be common but I've never noticed it before...

 

I have a black oily residue around the exhaust of my t540. Don't get the same residue on my 560. The last mix was using the green stihl 2 stroke oil, I usually use the red stihl 2 stroke.

 

Wondered if anyone could clear this up for me, if it's a problem I'll act straight away, if it's not just tell me to wind my neck in!

Take out the spark arrestor.... But all saws do that it's worse though when the exhaust flow can't escape like on yours because the arrestor is still in.

Cheers mate I'll give it a try, do you think it could be anything to do with the fuel mixture? Any other 540 owners experienced this?

While I'm here, different saw (560). Black dry deposits around spark plug, I am religious about my mixes and only mix what I need. Could this be auto tune related?

I'm running stihl hp super and it's measured with the stihl sqeezzy bottles .

ms150 did it badly until I drilled a larger exhaust hole ,then loads of liquid started coming out!!

Guess the exhaust was so restrictive it can not escape and the gas turns to liquid before it has a chance to exit, the spark arrestor would cause the same.... I could be talking bollocks though but I never noticed it on my t540 that I did take the spark arrestor out of straight away.

No worries mate thanks for that, I've taken the spark screen out and I'll see if it persists
