Career devolpment in arb

I'm only young at the moment, early twenties and have only been doing arb for a year or so. I love it, and very passionate about a good career in this industry. But where can it take you?

 

I would like to think myself as a competent climber now, maybe in a few years, lead climber and So on, but is there any actually progression past this! I don't have any formal quals however looking into this.

 

Just interested to hear what people have to say.

 

Where has arb took you throughout the years and where are you now?

 

Would you class it as a dead end job, Or can you go as far as you aspire?

Pursue this career with caution and a lot of wisdom.

 

study hard, work harder, love what you do and youll always find what you seek in this industry.

Wise words :thumbup. I'm content with the tools side for now, but always interested where it could take you in years to come and what you could potentially end up doing. But I believe you can achieve and do whatever you like if you really want it enough. It's comes down to what you enjoy doing.

After 48 years I split time evenly between pruning, consulting, and 'other' tree work. Lots of options if you tune into the tree and learn what you are good at.

My advice is to take time to study and gain recognised qualifications while your young. There are options that don't require you to climb as you age but do require formal qualifications.
