Hello everyone, I firstly like to say hello as I am new to this forum.

I am after some advice if anyone can help. I have got a Stihl ms360 and I was wondering if anyone has changed a P&C on these. The standard replacements are 48mm and I was thinking about replacing it with a 50mm. Is this possible without having to machine anything or modify the parts. Thank you in advance.

The stroke of the 036 is 34mm and the 044/046 is 36mm, the bottom end is completely different. From what I have seen but not investigated, the 038 shares the same stroke - if the bottom end is the same, you may be in luck but you would need to do a bit more work before buying something that is impossible to fit!

Thanks Spud, it's just a thought at the moment. Thought the 50mm piston is for 038 but it's obviously not. From what I have read/researched you can actually upgrade"overhaul" the ms 360 however the piston would need machining to fit. Thank you for your reply

18 Stoner I am changing the piston and cylinder anyway as the saw has seized. However your suggesting sounds great, might be the next move after figuring out which piston and cylinder are going on. Thank you for all the replies.
