Osmo Exterior UV Oil

Recommended Posts

I have some exterior European Oak doors and windows to treat before fitting. Have read a couple of posts about the Osma Exterior UV oil but wondering just how good it is? I have used Treatex products on Iroko but they don't do anything for oak that I am aware of. How long is the Osma oil lasting before needing re applying?

Any advice appreciated. Thx Craig

Hi Craig,

The osmo oil is very good, initial coat will last between 2-3 years dependant on exposure. Make sure the windows are sanded first, and get a nice even coat, either by spraying or foam roller/brush. However the Fiddes Exterior high build wood oil is exactly the same product for less money.

Thanks for that. Thinking I might go Iroko instead of oak. Plenty of products available, both Treatex and Osmo. Also probably last longer too!!? And a fair bit cheaper. Craig
