Pulley saver for me with the zigzag . Works well and retreavable ,if you go for it they do it in 3 different lengths so if your doing a lot of chogging down on biggish diameter wood then you will need the longer one for choking round the stem

Hi Dexta thanks for the reply what size do you use personally for your pulley saver.....cheers Matty :thumbup1:

I got the smallest one , I think it's about a metre long but in hind sight I would have gone bigger. Ideally it would be nice to have both but they are expensive

Same as Dexta's for me....they are easily retreavable matty...once you have felt the benefits of the friction free climbing you will wonder how you ever did without it.

Cheers dexta,....silky, the next size up dexta is 2.5mtr is that the better length do you think.

I know its an investment but they are strong money £125+vat my climbing line cost less:blushing:

Although I climb on a spiderjack rather than a zig zag I must say the pulley saver is quite something.. I never climb without it now.

I've never needed a longer one but that said I've not chogged down big timber since I bought it and can now totally see that ill be buying another because of that so yes mate I'd go bigger if your only buying one :D

It depends on the size of the stem your dismantling.

I made up a 4.5 metre one for a large London Plane tree we were dismantling and craning out the stem. It still wasn't long enough for that.

Longer the better I'd say if your doing big stuff. It will still work on smaller diameter stuff just daisy chain the excess or I do a noose type knot.

Hope this helps.
