Stihl 4 mix oil equivalent

Hi all we have a few customers who use The STIHL Ultra HP 4 mix oil.

We already make an oil that is a direct replacement for the semi synthetic 2-stroke that all the major makes sell, but I cannot get anymore info on this particular oil.

Are the any other oils that are used in the same bits of kit that I may be able to find spec sheets for?

The Ultra oil seems to have been developed to combat some of the troubles that have plagued the Stihl 4-mix engines. It seems that deposits were building on the valves and guides as well as the combustion chamber causing failure.

I believe that HP Ultra is a very low deposit, hence clean burn oil.

What I find strange is that we all go on about using oils of JASO-FC or FD rating, yet HP Ultra is only an FB rating.

I am sending you an email.

Thanks Barrie I appreciate the info.

Problem is he is worried about warranty issues so uses the Stihl spec oil, but if I can find an oil that matches the spec then his warranty stands.
