Tree Austria harness problem

The bridge on my tree Austria 3.1 harness has worn away to the point I want to replace it. Went to do it today but when I bought the harness I added a petzl swivel to it. I loctite glued the bolt back into the shackle.

I can't now undo that bolt to replace the bridge.

The only way I can see to do it now is cut the shackle and buy a new shackle.

Has anyone else tried to do this or had similar problems.

Andy

You can get a hold of replacement shackles easily, just replaced my 3rd bridge and had to replace one shackle as I chewed up the Aln key hole. How do find the harness comfort wise?? I don't really rate mine as I find it rides up when loaded on the side D's using a flipline.

shackles are usually some kind of alloy. I would have somebody standing ready with water to cool things down, put the back of teh shackle into a vise and then use an angle grinder (with a metal cutting disc) on that bad boy. Have had to do it with MRs before. Is better to end up with a wet harness than one that is heat damaged (nylon does not like getting hot :) it goes to pieces)
