Hi all.

My first post, hopefully in the right place!

It looks like Jason's sale is done and dusted but can anyone tell me a) whether those old Rayco 1620's are likely to fall to bits at the sight of a stump, b) if you can still get spares for them, and c) if you have to be built like Desperate Dan to operate a pedestrian machine for more than ten minutes?

Obviously I'm looking for a 'small' grinder. The Alpine Magnum looks like hard work just to carry to the stump never mind grind it, but I reckon a self-propelling pedestrian machine wouldn't knock too many years off the life of my joints. Looked into hiring but a 13 horse push machine near me (South Dorset) is £80 + wear for half a day!!!

woodpicker has a nice little stumpy in calssifieds at the side of the page, great wee machines. really easy to operate, as long as they are kept sharp and you do your prep well, i watch a lot of guys do stumps that havent a clue what they are doing, taking to much off and never stopping to fill the whole in as they go with shreddings to keep it level..
