Looking for others opinions on;

Blaze

Velocity

Kernmaster/Hedera (difference)?

New England Tachyon

I am trying to select a line to run SRT with the Hitch Hiker. I used to use Imori which is my double line only draw back being it twists a lot and soaks up water like a sponge, then used Liros with prestretched tech which was great but technically not a climbing line.

Would be good to hear others thoughts.

Cheers

Kern and hedra are excellent ropes and both pretty much the same, the HH runs a dream on them!! If your solely using it SRT then either will be best, don't really see the point of getting blaze or tachyon if your not Ddrt'ing.

Velocity is very very nice and only used briefly a few times I really enjoyed it, with both the uni and wrench it really is a good all rounder..

Cheers Adam. My pref' is Kern or Velocity I have 5m of Velocity for my strop and it has worn pretty well. I will have a go on Kern tomorrow hopefully and would like to find out the difference between that and Hedera.

I don't recon it is. I have both, got the Hedera but was spooked, once, I ended up not seeing it till the last minuet with it base tied while cleaning a willow stem. I thank God I did see it. Good rope, but green? For an srt line? So I got some Kernmaster that is a much better line not only colour wise but is is a lot more malleable and so holds knots better and seems to work better with my friction hitch. There is not much in it but the devil is in the detail. J

Hedera 11mm is Kernmaster bro

Thanks Drew, I thought so due to price and look of the rope (online) the write ups varied slightly. If I bought enough Kern' from Yale I could have any colour I wanted with a new name and confuse things even more.
