Hi there, deceivingly large plane tree reduction from yesterday, just wanted some thoughts I guess. Customer wanted around 20/30% reduced and a light thin.

Good job :thumbup1: ...but 20-30% of what, i) height, ii) crown volume, or iii) crown linear. :confused1:

It looks to me like CR by 1.5m (approx.)

When can I expect your 'ARB Approved Contractor' application?

Thanks for posting..

Paul

Or better still specify what remains as well as what is removed, and avoid crown thinning at the same time as carrying out the crown reduction, albeit of course that crown reduction will provide a degree of thinning. Reduction by thinning anyone?

Good point, partic if TPO'd as that's what the '1APP' guidance requires (see attached....can't believe this was Sept. 2008...OMG!!!)

Inevitably, well almost, if done correctly, CR will include a degree of CT.

Cheers :thumbup1:

just my thoughts-

maybe unwanted, if so I will get me coat!

Personally would have left the middle top section higher and the rival leaders more reduced to discourage co dominance, obvious now and increases in the future.

Sort of late formative pruning, nice trees to reduce planes, and tolerate it very well
