Newbie needing help

Hi not been climbing long but decide I wanted to give the hitch climber system ago tried it with a v.t and liked it but some one recommended the Knut to me was wondering if this was tied rite with the pulley ,sorry if this is abit same old newbie question but with not many people to ask it's nice to check on here , cheers

Hi Craig, and welcome to the forum.

 

The hitch looks OK - have you had a look at knot guide on the yellow bar above?

Also, in your photo - where's the end of your rope? Has it been moved out of the way so the knot's easier to see?

Hi and thanks I haven't had a look at that but have since downloaded the arbtalk knot app which is very useful and yer I had the end of my rope out the way while tying the friction hitch thanks for the answer tho much appreciated and nice to no it is ok

The distel is also a brilliant knot i really like it maybe coz I havent figured out the knut

I've been using the knut on my hitch climber for a while, its a really good hitch as it runs very freely.

Iv been using the VT as it was reccomended to me by a few people. May have ago at using a Knut next week.

I'm using the Knut also, it seems to bite better than the VT in my opinion.

A vt also has more sit back, the knut being more compact also i find it dosnt strangle hold. If you are using this set up for the first time and your friction cord is new make sure you tend the knot as you assend.

Good advice this.... That sharp intake of breath as you put weight on it and it don't grab!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
